Throughout the Stonehome Mountains the tide of battle was turning in favor of the protectors of Overlook and some say the decisive blow was struck by the ever cautious Kalad and a dispatched unit of soldiers from Overlook. Who made their way through the vents and sealed off the underground tunnels from any further orc use. He had reported to the Overlook council that he directed the group they had sent on the Monastery evacuation mission to the vents, but as soon he had recovered he would follow up on their progress.
They readily agreed and it was good thing they did go as the previous two groups The Farstriders and the (bleepers1) had fallen to the orog chieftain Tusk. He and his band were heavily wounded from a battle with the (bleepers1) and unable to mount a proper defense, Kalad and company defeated the foe and sealed off the Nexus. With their leader dead and cut off from the tunnels, the orcs had no choice but to attack Bordrin’s Watch. The fighting was brutal, for even though the orcs have lost their advantage, they are still numerous and powerful. After five days of fighting, the defenders on the walls turn back the hordes, sending them back into the badlands once more. Unfortunately the disfigured remains of the (bleepers) and Farstriders were found barely recognizable and chewed upon by Tusks’ kept cave troll.
As the soldiers were driving the orc forces back into orc country, the festivities had already begun in Overlook. Here we find the Overlanders celebrating their successful defense at the victory party at high hall inside of Caer Overlook. They avail themselves on the food and wine except for Relik who stares at the crowd, trade stories with other groups and learn the details and overall timeline of the past week’s events. Lain takes particular interest in exchanging stories with another adventuring companies, while the others look on at the revelry, as the night winds on they can sense the party is winding down but before they can head out Elder Cadric of the council walks over to make a simple and mysterious request of the adventurers, “tomorrow I would like to speak with you all about some information that has come to light.”
With that ominous invitation Lain begins saying the groups goodbyes and they all head back to rest at the Mountain’s Hearth in the Blister
