After gathering together back at the inn, the intrepid adventurers share the information they’ve learned of the town. Definitely, something dark is brewing. The next morning the group decided to all head out to investigate the seeming center of the events happening in Wilgem, the Morsoc’s.
The farmland is roughly eight miles away from town on the other side of a small forest. Therandil lights his pipe and leads the way excited to see the forest lands. The trip is uneventful but a little after the third hour of walking they notice that an abnormally high number of trees have recently died. Far’el attempts to get a read on the flow of energy in the area and confronted by a strong feeling of undeath and the energy of the trees seems to have been forcibly taken.
As they continue on Auberry spots the farm house and to left of it a barn roughly two hundred yards ahead. As they move a bit closer they notice the buildings are weather beaten and not very well maintained. Distressingly by the barn a pair of figures in black robes are directing a mass of creatures into the barn.
Auberry aware of how loud his armor is asks someone to go ahead and take a better look. Therandil puts out his pipe and strides forward, quickly becoming disappearing into the trees. He moves silently closer within a hundred yards of the barn and sees the masses are four distinct groups being herded, skeletons, zombies, two sets of crazed humanoids. The herders themselves look somewhat organized dressed in identical black clothing leading him to believe they a part of a group.
He moves back to tell the group deciding to surprise them by popping out from behind. Explaining the situation they decide to move up and try to get the drop on the cultists. They move forward to the edge of the clearing as silently as possible roughly twenty-five yards away from the barn. Unfortunately one of the robed figures catches a glimpse of them and quickly directs the shambling monsters to attack will a loud yell.
